Is this a networking party or a conference? And what does each mean?

  • It’s both. As a student or startup you’re there to chat, pitch, meet and greet. Emerging Talk is an opportunity to speak with people like you who have been in your position and to perhaps find partnerships with other student entrepreneurs. The BIGGEST prerequisite to this conference is an eagerness to engage. If you are not willing to just walk up to another attendee and introduce yourself, your experience will not be as rich as those who are. There will be people in the room who can fund a business. And investors are more interested in the entrepreneur than the idea!

How is this related to the Orange Tree Fund?

  • If you want to receive Orange Tree Funding, you need to be at Emerging Talk. However, the events at Emerging Talk are not mandatory and will not affect whether or not you get funded.
